🌿 Growrilla NFT 60-plant system : intensive production of lettuces and herbs
The Growrilla NFT 60 is the high-yield model of the range : 60 plant sites spread over 4 channels of 2 m, within a compact footprint of 230 x 60 cm. It is the tool of choice for the intensive hydroponic production of lettuces, herbs and seedlings.
💧 How the NFT technique works
The NFT principle consists of continuously circulating a thin film of nutrient solution along the bottom of each sloped channel. The roots constantly absorb water, oxygen and nutrients, allowing much faster growth than in soil cultivation.
The submerged Resun 600-1000 L/h pump feeds the 4 channels from the reservoir. The solution flows back by gravity in a closed loop : less water wasted, less fertiliser lost.
🌱 Who is this model suited for
The NFT 60 targets advanced hobby growers, ambitious home producers and small professional projects aiming for a regular output of lettuces and herbs. It is perfectly suited to lettuce, batavia, romaine, lamb's lettuce, rocket, basil, parsley, chives and coriander.
Avoid plants with a large root volume (tomatoes, peppers) : for those crops, the NFT 36 Pro Line with its 100x80 double-wall channels is a better fit.

🔧 Installation and day-to-day maintenance
Allow 1h to 1h30 for assembly with two people, as the 2.30 m format requires a bit of room to position the channels. The slope is pre-set and the fittings are watertight out of the box.
Maintenance stays simple despite the volume : weekly check of EC and pH, water top-up and nutrient adjustment. A complete drain is recommended every 15 to 20 days to keep the solution clean.
💡 Pro tips to use the full capacity
To turn the NFT 60 into a weekly production machine, practise staggered transplanting : insert 15 new plants each week into a different channel. After one month, you harvest 15 lettuces per week continuously, without peaks and troughs.
Combine it with a separate germination module (cuttings or rockwool seedlings) to keep the system supplied with ready plants. A typical urban farm can produce 30 kg of lettuce per month from a single well-managed NFT 60.
✅ Why choose the NFT 60
Maximum yield per m² in the Growrilla range : 60 plants on a single loop, a single pump to maintain, a single reservoir to dose. You gain easier management and a more stable nutrient solution thanks to the larger buffer volume.
Italian manufacturing in Robassomero guarantees optimal longevity, and the Growrilla ecosystem (spare parts, accessories, French-language support) secures your investment for the long term.
📈 NFT 60 vs two NFT 28s : which production strategy
With nearly equivalent capacity (60 vs 56 plants), the NFT 60 reduces floor footprint, electricity cost and maintenance thanks to a single loop. The nutrient solution is also more stable because the buffer volume is larger.
Two separate NFT 28s remain useful if you want to manage two distinct nutrient solutions (for example acid-loving lettuces vs alkaline-loving herbs) or split production across two different spaces.
