🪣 A bin designed to last
Made of high-density polyethylene, this rectangular black planter is resistant to impacts, UV rays, and nutrient solutions over the long term. Its thick walls easily support the weight of water-soaked clay pebbles. The two reinforced handles allow for easy movement, even when fully loaded. The integrated graduations make it convenient to monitor water levels without guesswork. The black color isn't just for looks : it limits light reaching the roots and inhibits algae growth. A simple, sturdy planter, designed to last.
🌱 From mortar tray to growing tray
Originally designed for construction work, this container proves particularly well-suited to aquaponic systems. Its generous volume and depth allow it to accommodate everything from salads and aromatic herbs to tomato or strawberry plants with more developed roots. The flat bottom facilitates even distribution of the substrate and prevents dry patches. It is equally suitable for a closed-loop system with a pump or for regular manual watering. In aquaponics, the water enriched by the fish circulates naturally through the clay pebbles and nourishes the plants ; this container is the heart of the system.
💧 Easy setup
Fill the tray with expanded clay pebbles (4–8 mm grain size recommended), plant your seedlings or young plants, then connect it to your water system via a pump. The plastic can be easily pierced with a hole punch to install a water supply or drain fitting. For optimal results, maintain a pH between 6 and 7 and a water temperature between 18 and 26°C. Clean between cycles with plain water, without chemicals. Lightweight when empty, it is easy to store at the end of the season.
📦 4 volumes for every situation
- 45 L : Ideal for a first setup or a small space, it comfortably accommodates 6 to 8 plants. Perfect for trying out aquaponics without a significant investment.
- 55 L : The right compromise for an intermediate setup. It offers a little more space to vary the species, with 8 to 10 plants possible.
- 60 L : Suitable for larger-scale cultivation, it allows mixing leafy vegetables and plants with more developed roots, up to 12 plants.
- 80 L : The most generous format, designed for sustained production. With 12 to 16 plants, it is suitable for installations where a regular and varied harvest is desired.
🔗 Versatility and compatibility
This container integrates seamlessly into any existing aquaponics, hydroponics, or simple substrate growing system. It functions equally well indoors under artificial lighting, in greenhouses, or outdoors. Its rectangular shape easily adapts to shelves, workbenches, or support structures. The 60 and 80 L sizes are particularly suitable for production setups where multiple plant species are desired in a single container.
🛡️ Care and storage
Rinse it after each growing cycle to prevent the buildup of mineral deposits. In winter, store it in a frost-free location to preserve the plastic's flexibility. The material can withstand mild cleaning products without degrading. With minimal maintenance, this container will last for several consecutive seasons.
