🪴 Technology at the service of your plants
Adding CO2 is the secret to beautiful aquariums, but overdosing can be fatal to fish. The JBL PROFLORA CO2 CONTROL eliminates this risk. It's the most advanced controller on the market : it measures your water's pH and temperature in real time and controls your CO2 system (via a solenoid valve) to inject the exact dose, no more, no less.
🖥️ Touch & Intuitive Technology
Say goodbye to complicated buttons and unreadable screens. This controller features a color touchscreen (Touch Display) that clearly shows :
- The current pH and the setpoint (target) pH.
- The water temperature.
- The state of the injection (whether the valve is open or closed).
- The condition of the probe (electrode quality).
- The time remaining before the next calibration.
⚙️ "Auto-pH" function
Not sure what pH level to aim for ? The JBL PROFLORA takes care of it.
Simply enter the carbonate hardness (KH) of your water, and the computer automatically calculates the ideal pH value to optimize plant growth without harming fish.
🛡️ Safety & Precision
Low Voltage Power Supply : Operates on 12V for complete safety in water.
Adjustable Hysteresis : Allows you to define the triggering precision (default 0.1 pH) to prevent the solenoid valve from clicking continuously.
Audible & Visual Alarms : It warns you if the pH deviates too much or if the temperature is abnormal.
📦 Box contents
⚠️ Warning : This product is the control unit only. Your system must be complete in order to function.
What's INCLUDED in the box :
- 1x JBL CO2 control computer (White touch unit).
- 1x Wall bracket with screws.
- 1x Digital temperature probe.
- 1x 12V mains power supply.
- 1x Connection cable for solenoid valve.
What is NOT INCLUDED (to be purchased separately) :
- pH probe : (Required for measurement). We recommend the JBL PROFLORA CO2 pH SENSOR SET.
- Solenoid valve : (Required to shut off the gas). Compatible with JBL ProFlora v002 or any standard 12V solenoid valve.
- CO2 Kit : (Bottle, regulator, diffuser).
Properly configure your computer
The Secret of "Auto" Mode : Stabilize your KH !
The intelligence of this controller relies on the mathematical relationship between pH, CO2, and carbonate hardness (KH). Before activating "Auto-pH" mode, you must measure your KH using a reliable drop test. Enter this value into the computer.
If your KH changes (e.g., by adding reverse osmosis water or limestone), the pH target calculated by the computer will be incorrect. We recommend remeasuring your KH once a month and updating the value in the menu to ensure the safety of your fish.
The probe's location is critical
Never place the pH probe directly above the CO2 diffuser! The gas bubbles will distort the reading (due to extreme local acidity), and the computer will cut off the injection prematurely. Place the probe in a dark location (to prevent algae growth on the glass) with good water circulation, but upstream of the CO2 injection point. Ideally, it should be near the intake of your filter, where the water is most representative of the overall aquarium.
Master Hysteresis (To save your solenoid valve)
This technical term refers to the triggering "buffer zone". By default, JBL often sets it to 0.1 pH.
Example : If you are aiming for a pH of 7.00, the computer will open the gas at 7.10 and close it at 6.90. Do not reduce this value to 0.01! This would force the solenoid valve to open and close ("click-clack") every 30 seconds, causing premature wear. A hysteresis of 0.1 is ideal for plant health.
The trap of "new" water
When setting up an aquarium with a technical substrate (such as Tropica, ADA, JBL ProScape), the substrate releases a lot of acidity during the first few weeks.
Do not activate the CO2 controller for the first 3 weeks. Allow the substrate to stabilize, perform your water changes, and only connect the computer once the natural pH has stabilized. Otherwise, the computer will never trigger the CO2 because the substrate is already acidifying the water below the set point !
