The 19 L Growrilla lids are among the parts that get replaced occasionally : a net pot fitted too tightly that cracks the collar, a drilled lid for experimenting with another head, or simply a spare in the workshop cupboard. This pack of 5 means you always have a spare on hand.
The Controller version is a solid lid with a hose pass-through and access hatch, used on controller pots or to close a growing pot when used outside the growing season. The Drilled version is drilled to receive a heavy duty 14 cm net pot : it is the standard lid for growing plants in RDWC.

🔄 Advanced uses : reconfigure and switch
The lid pack gives you the flexibility to switch a growing pot into a secondary controller pot for an off-growing cycle, or conversely to temporarily turn a controller pot into a growing pot. You keep the same set of tanks and adapt the configuration as needed.
For experimental setups, the pack also lets you isolate a fully closed tank (to store a reserve of osmosis water or a nutrient mix prepared in advance) without contamination.
Why a pack of 5
The logic of the pack of 5 matches real-world use : on a 4-pot kit, it is exactly the number of lids needed to reconfigure the whole system (4 growing pots + 1 controller). On a larger kit, it is a reasonable spare covering several growing seasons. The per-pack price is also better value than buying individually.
💡 Tips to preserve your lids
Polypropylene does not handle concentrated hydrogen peroxide very well over the long term : for cleaning, dilute to 5 % maximum and rinse with clean water immediately afterwards. For stubborn algae, a soft brush is usually enough.
Also avoid overloading a drilled lid with a massive root system pulling downward : cracks usually start there. A light stake fixed to the pot rim relieves the lid when the plant gets heavy.
