The pot extension for the modular RDWC kit adds a complete growing position to a circuit that is already assembled. It includes a 19 litre tank with a drilled lid, a 14 cm basket, gaskets, a connecting pipe and an air stone. The fittings are available in 32 mm for the 2.0 and 50 mm for the PRO.
Going from four to six pots does not require buying a new network. The tanks in an RDWC circuit are connected by rigid tubes fitted into seals, with no glue or tools required, so a new position slots into the chain like a link. This extension includes everything a single link needs, matched in advance to the diameter of your circuit.
➕ A complete slot
The package contains everything needed for the new site you are about to create, with a place for every component. The tank and its accessories are the same as those already in use; only the seals, the connecting pipe, and the air stone differ between generations, the version 2.0 receives a 10 cm stone and the PRO version a 50 × 50 mm cylinder.

This rigid mesh basket holds the plant above the nutrient solution.
Two gaskets and a tube
They connect the tank to its neighbours, in 32 or 50 mm depending on the version.
The airstone
It sits at the bottom of the tank and connects to your air line.
The water pump determines the size of the system
Any expansion is limited by the water pump already installed. Beyond its capacity, the tanks furthest from the controller receive less solution than the others, and the difference shows up in plant growth before it shows up in flow rate. If a pot at the end of the chain falls behind when nothing else has changed in how the system is managed, that is the limit you have reached.
Fill the basket in the new position
The 14 cm basket supplied with the extension is filled with an inert grow medium, and the 6 L clay pebbles are well suited to this volume. They support the plant's root ball, allow air to circulate around the collar, and can be rinsed between cycles for reuse. Rinse them until the water runs clear before adding them, so that the dust does not end up in the system.
🔌 Fitting it without breakage
The operation must be carried out with the water level lowered below the holes; otherwise the neighbouring tanks drain through the opening the moment you remove a tube. Position the new tank level with the others, preferably at the end of the chain, as you are then adding one link to the circuit rather than shifting all the others. Push the seals into the holes, lubricate them with a little washing-up liquid, then insert the tube by pushing and twisting in one movement. Refill until the water covers the tubes by roughly 1 cm and keep an eye on both new seals for a few minutes before installing the plant.
💨 The air in the new location
The supplied air stone connects to your air pump via flexible pipe, as an unaerated tank leaves the roots short of dissolved oxygen. Each additional pot requires an extra air outlet, and an already loaded pump will eventually run low on pressure, something you can recognise by larger, less frequent bubbles across all tanks. When adding several positions, plan for a more powerful air pump and extended air pipes running to the new tanks.
🪴 The new growing position
A new slot takes a pre-rooted plant at the same stage as those already in the system, since all tanks share the same solution. Transplant it once the system is back in circulation and the solution has been adjusted at the controller tank. Take the opportunity of the open circuit to replace the seals on the fittings you have just dismantled, as a seal that has been compressed for a whole season does not always recover its shape. If you only need the tank, the grow bed on its own is also available.
