➕ Move up a size without changing kit
The Growrilla pot extension lets you enlarge an existing RDWC system by adding a complete growing pot. You receive a 19 L double-walled tank, the drilled lid taking a 14 cm net pot, a cylindrical air stone 50 x 50 mm and the push-fit fittings needed to graft onto the hydraulic circuit without modifying the pots already in place.
It is the ideal solution to upgrade a 4-pot to 6-pot kit, or a 6-pot to 8-pot kit without buying a whole new system. The native modularity of the Growrilla RDWC makes the operation as simple as a Lego connection : one click, and the new pot is in the circuit.
📦 Contents of the extension kit
Each extension brings together strictly the items needed to add a functional pot : the 19 L double-walled anti-algae tank, the drilled lid for a 14 cm net pot, two push-fit fittings (one inlet, one outlet) at the diameter suited to your kit generation, and the cylindrical air stone 50 x 50 mm.
The net pot, the silicone air tubing and the air-tube connectors are not included. Limit to respect : do not exceed the maximum format supported by your current water pump and air pump. Beyond 2 extensions added to an existing kit, a pump upgrade may prove necessary.

🔧 When to order an extension
The extension is designed for immediate use : you fill the grow box, you want to move into production mode, you add a pot. Dismantling and reconfiguring a Growrilla kit takes less than 15 minutes thanks to the push-fit fittings. You purge the circuit, you add the extension at the desired position and you refill with water.
Beyond two consecutive extensions, it is better to consider a higher kit. The saving is not significant and you avoid the risk of undersizing the existing pumps.
💡 Tips : how many extensions to plan
Simple rule :
- On a 2.0 kit (HX2500 + ACO 9602) : up to 2 extensions without a pump upgrade.
- On a PRO kit (EDEN 135 + V30) : up to 4 extensions without an upgrade.
- Beyond that : move up to a higher kit or add a second controller.
Tip : add the extensions at each end of the chain rather than in the middle to preserve the hydraulic balance of the circuit.
📈 Extension vs buying a higher kit
The extension typically costs 30 to 40 % less than an equivalent pot in a complete kit, without paying for a second pump or a second controller. It is cost-effective up to 2-3 extensions. Beyond that, the calculation reverses : a higher kit delivers better-sized pumps, unified accessories and an overall warranty that is simpler to manage.
The rule we apply at Univers Aquaponie : if you know from the start that you will aim for more than 8 pots, take the 8-pot kit straight away. If you are exploring and want to test, go for a 4-pot kit + 2 extensions.
