🧱 Sintered Quartz vs Ceramic

Why choose this material rather than classic ceramic noodles ?

The difference in material : Standard ceramics are often smooth and have low porosity. Here, we're talking about sintered quartz (heated quartz), a material that resembles a rigid "glass sponge".

The proof is in the numbers : Thanks to this unique texture, just 1 liter of these beads offers 450 m² of living space for your bacteria. That's the equivalent of several tennis courts in a single filter basket ! More surface area = More purifying bacteria.

🔮 The spherical shape

The round pearl shape was studied for two specific technical reasons :

1. Maximum Filling : Unlike rings that leave large gaps, the beads arrange themselves to fill 100% of your filter's volume. No space is wasted.
2. Fluid Circulation : The water cannot take "shortcuts". It is forced to circulate around each bead, ensuring maximum contact with the bacteria.

How much do you need ?
Although it depends on the population of your aquarium, here is the recommended golden rule :

• Aquarium < 200 Liters : Take the box of 1 Liter.
• Aquarium 200 to 400 Liters : Take the box of 2 Liters.
• Aquarium 400 to 600 Liters : Take 3 liters (1L + 2L).
• Large Aquariums (> 600L) or Clubs : The bucket of 5 Liters is the most economical.

Tip : It's always better to have a little too much media than not enough. The excess can be stored indefinitely in a dry place.
