🌿 Operation and Design
The netting is woven from UV-treated high-density polyethylene (HDPE), with an ultra-fine mesh of 0.8 mm that blocks almost all pest insects : cabbage white butterfly, carrot fly, flea beetle, leek moth, spotted wing drosophila, as well as small birds that peck at red berries and young shoots.
Its knitted structure breathes : light, rainwater, and air circulate freely, preventing the greenhouse effect and condensation. Leaves do not yellow, and moisture does not stagnate, unlike with a solid cover.
The HDPE weave mechanically resists tearing, the weight of light snow, and moderate storms. The overlocked edges prevent fraying in the long term.
🛡️ Protection and Durability
The integrated UV treatment protects both the netting (lifespan of 3 to 5 outdoor seasons) and the underlying crops: in intense summer heat, the netting reduces ray intensity and limits sunburn on leaves.
In winter, it also offers protection against light frost and cold wind, creating a temperate microclimate under which early seedlings can start.
💧 Performance and Compatibility
The 0.8 mm mesh blocks insects larger than 1 mm, which includes almost all common garden pests. However, it allows beneficial insects invisible to the naked eye, such as certain predatory mites, to pass through.
For crops that need to be pollinated (tomatoes, zucchini, strawberries), it is recommended to remove the netting during flowering or to partially open it. For cabbages, lettuces, turnips, beets, or leeks, it can remain in place all season.
🥬 Recommended Uses
The insect netting is suitable for all types of crops: raised garden beds, permanent beds, hooped tunnels, small greenhouses, raised planters, strawberry and raspberry plants, dwarf fruit trees, and even as temporary protection for newly sprouted seedlings. It is also very useful in outdoor aquaponics to prevent insects from falling into the growing beds.

📕 Guide and Practical Tips
Preparation : measure the area to be covered and add 30 to 50 cm of overhang on each side for anchoring. The netting can be cut without risk, and the edges can be folded to prevent fraying.
Installation : place the netting over hoops planted every 80 cm to 1 m, or directly on plants if the crop is dense and low. Secure the edges with tent pegs, U-stakes, stones, or sandbags.
Mistakes to avoid : do not stretch it tightly over fragile young plants (risk of breakage), do not use it on crops that need to be pollinated without planning daily opening, do not leave it covered with wet snow for too long.
Maintenance : at the end of the season, shake off and rinse the netting with a hose, dry flat, and store in a dry place, away from light and rodents.
