💧 Clay that listens to your plants
The Oya system operates on a principle that is as simple as it is ingenious. The microporous clay allows water to pass through its walls very slowly, but only when the surrounding soil allows it : when the soil dries out, natural osmotic pressure draws water out of the jar ; when it is still moist, the water remains in reserve. In practical terms, this means that each plant receives the right amount of water at the right time, without you having to think about it. This type of direct watering to the roots also avoids common mistakes, such as overwatering, which suffocates the plant, and underwatering, which stresses it and reduces fungal diseases often linked to overly damp soil. Over time, the roots naturally grow towards the jar, a sign that the plant has recognized this constant and reliable source of moisture.

Install each Oya in seconds : push the pointed end into the potting soil a few centimeters from the roots, fill the reservoir to the top with clean water, and close it with the included cap to minimize evaporation. A 15cl Oya Mini will water a pot up to 20cm in diameter for about a week, slightly less in hot summer weather, and slightly more for less demanding species in winter. The three-pack allows you to equip three different pots or combine two Oyas in a larger container to double the irrigation area. Behind every Oya jar is Oyas Environnement, a French company founded in 2014 that collaborated for three years with the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research), SupAgro (French National University of Applied Sciences), and the European Membrane Institute to formulate its microporous clay. The jars are handcrafted in their French workshops using natural clay without chemical additives. The unglazed, uncolored Natural version is intentionally the most porous in the entire range: diffusion is optimal, and its raw, understated appearance blends seamlessly into any interior. 🧹 Maintenance and lifespan
Oyas Mini Naturelles are designed to last for years with minimal maintenance. If limescale buildup slows diffusion, soaking them in diluted vinegar water for a few hours is enough to restore porosity ; rinse thoroughly before using again. As they are unglazed, they are sensitive to frost : bring them indoors before the first cold weather if you use them outdoors. Out of season, store them dry in a temperate location.
