EHEIM clip suction cups hold the hose of a filter or pump against the glass without squashing it, so the flow rate stays intact. The clip swivels and detaches, so you can remove the hose without pulling off the suction cup. Each pack contains 2 pieces, in 9/12, 12/16 or 16/22 mm.
A filter or pump pipe that floats freely ends up shifting, drawing in air or splashing water out of the tank. These EHEIM clip suction cups hold it against the glass, at the height you choose. The clip is elastic: it holds the pipe without crushing it, so the flow stays full. It swivels on the suction cup and can be unclipped, which lets you take the pipe off for maintenance without detaching the suction cup. Each pack contains 2 pieces, for freshwater and saltwater alike.
📏 Choosing the right diameter
The diameter is printed on the pipe: the first number is the inside diameter, the second the outside diameter, in millimetres, and the clip is chosen to match this pair of values. A clip that is too large lets the pipe slip, while one that is too small crushes it. If the marking has worn off, measure the outside diameter with callipers or a ruler: about 12 mm for 9/12, 16 mm for 12/16 and 22 mm for 16/22.

This size fits the delivery pipe of the classic 150.
12/16 mm
This diameter fits the classic 250 and 350, the inlet of the 150 and the outlet of the 600.
16/22 mm
This clip fits the suction pipe of the classic 600.
🔧 EHEIM classic filters
A single filter sometimes uses two diameters, which is why the suction cups are sold by size. The classic 150 takes 12/16 mm on the intake and 9/12 mm on the outlet, whereas the classic 600 takes 16/22 mm on the intake and 12/16 mm on the outlet. So allow one pack of each diameter for these two models, and 2 packs of 12/16 mm for a classic 250 or 350. Before maintenance, close the filter taps: you can then release the clips without spilling water, and put the pipe back exactly where it was.
Fitting the grey pipe on a classic 250 or 350
The EHEIM classic 250 and 350 filters use 12/16 mm on both the intake and the outlet. The grey flexible 12/16 mm pipe fits them, and 2 packs of 12/16 suction cups are enough to hold its two lengths along the glass as far as the strainer and the outlet. The pipe then stays straight, with no kinks that would reduce the filter's flow.
A clean pane of glass for a good hold
A suction cup will not hold on glass covered in limescale or algae. Clean the chosen spot and moisten the suction cup before pressing it against the glass.
