A heater you can adjust in one movement, phone held against the tube
Most aquarium heaters are adjusted with a dial at the top of the tube, often half underwater and hard to read. The Sicce Scuba Contactless has none. You bring your phone close to the heater, Sicce's ContrAll app opens via NFC, and you choose the temperature between 15 and 35 °C. The factory setting is 25 °C, and the thermostat holds the set point to within 1 °C.
🔥 Choosing the power
Choose the power rating according to the volume of your tank and the difference between the room and the water temperature. Allow about 1 W per litre in a heated room, more in a garage or conservatory. Take a 200-litre tank in a basement at 15 °C, to be kept at 24 °C: the 250 W model, designed for 200 to 280 litres, heats in cycles, whereas a 150 W unit would stay on non-stop all winter. For a large tank, two heaters placed at opposite ends distribute the heat better than a single one.
50 to 150 W
These models heat an aquarium of 40 to 180 litres or a small quarantine tank.
200 and 250 W
They suit a tank of 150 to 280 litres or a small indoor system.
300 and 400 W
They heat a tank of 250 to 480 litres or a system placed in a cool room.

The tube measures 30 to 47 cm depending on the power: check the water depth.
An NFC phone to change the setpoint
Setting is done only through the ContrAll app, with an NFC-equipped phone. Check that yours has it before ordering. Once the set temperature is saved, the heater keeps it without the phone needing to stay nearby.
🌱 In aquaponics
In an indoor aquaponic system stocked with tropical species, such as tilapia or guppies, the water must stay warm and stable, because a drop in temperature slows down both the fish and the bacteria in the filter. The Scuba Contactless switches itself off if it ends up out of the water, for example when the level falls through evaporation, and thermal protection guards it against overheating. Place it in an area where the water circulates, near the pump outlet, so that the heat spreads throughout the tank. Calibrate the Scuba's reading against a thermometer
The ContrAll app lets you correct the heater's reading against an external thermometer. A JBL suction-cup aquarium thermometer, placed at the opposite end from the heater, gives you this reference and confirms that the heat reaches the whole tank. If the two readings differ, you adjust the Scuba's reading in the app instead of guessing at a set temperature.
