The effervescent tablet All In One BioActif is manufactured by Aquatic Science, which markets it under the name Balance Tab. Placed in the filter, the skimmer or directly in the water, it slowly releases bacterial spores, an anti-phosphate agent and minerals: it speeds up sludge reduction, maintains GH and KH, and stabilises the pH of a garden pond of up to 5,000 litres.

This tablet is made by Aquatic Science, a Belgian company specialising in pond water treatment. On their own website, the product is not called All In One but Balance Tab, with All In One serving as a commercial subtitle. It is that manufacturer's page that we treat as the authoritative source here: retailer descriptions repeat parts of it, sometimes rounding things off, and we have chosen to quote the source rather than the copy.
Aquaponics: what the manufacturer doesn't tell you
Aquatic Science makes no mention of aquaponics, aquariums, or edible plants on its product page. Its instructions refer only to ponds, filters, and skimmers. The manufacturer also publishes no safety statement for fish or plants: the phrase "harmless to fish and plants" found everywhere comes from resellers, and one of them qualifies it with "when used in accordance with recommendations".
One aspect of the formulation deserves your attention before you decide: the tablet contains an anti-phosphate agent, which the manufacturer presents as a benefit for an ornamental pond. In aquaponics, phosphorus is a nutrient that your plants consume. Deliberately lowering phosphate levels in an aquaponic system therefore works against what you are trying to grow. We do not recommend it for a system producing edible plants, and we would rather say so plainly than leave the question unanswered.
What the clay pebble does, and what it doesn't
The manufacturer attributes four actions to it, in this order: accelerating the breakdown of silt, maintaining adequate GH and KH levels, stabilising pH, and reducing phosphate levels. It is presented as the ideal solution for holidays or for maintaining water that is already well balanced, not as a shock treatment.
What it does not do is equally important. Aquatic Science does not classify it among its algae treatments: the brand sells separate products for that purpose. Any effect on algae, where it exists, is indirect: less silt and fewer phosphates means less material available to fuel an algae outbreak. How to use it
The process is straightforward: place the tablet in the filter, in the skimmer, or directly in the pond, and let it dissolve. The manufacturer sets one condition of use, and it is strict: wait until the water temperature exceeds 10 °C. Below that, bacterial activity is too low for the product to have any effect.
The dosage published by Aquatic Science is one tablet per month per 5,000 litres. Several retailers state 1 to 2 tablets per month for the same volume, with an effective duration of 1 to 2 months: these two figures do not appear on the manufacturer's page, and we provide them as retailer-sourced information rather than manufacturer data. If you do not know the actual volume of your pond, measure it before dosing, not after.
Test before treating
Aquatic Science includes a warning that is worth reading before you buy: Balance Tab is not suitable for correcting or rescuing an unbalanced pond. Where parameters have drifted significantly from the recommended values, the manufacturer recommends a product specific to the parameter in question. In other words, this tablet maintains an existing balance, it does not create one. A water test before treatment will tell you which situation you are dealing with, and a nitrate test is always the first step with a heavily stocked pond.
The manufacturer sums up the stated composition in a single sentence: slow release of bacterial spores adapted to the nitrogen cycle, anti-phosphate compounds, and minerals for GH and KH balance. No detailed ingredient list is published, neither by Aquatic Science nor by its retailers, and we do not reconstruct one ourselves. If the exact composition is a deciding factor for you, contact us before ordering: we will put the question directly to the manufacturer.

There is also the choice of pack size to consider. Individually, a tablet covers one month for a 5,000-litre pond: this is the format for trying it out, or for a pond treated on an occasional basis. The pack of 6 covers a full season from April to September at that same volume, or three months if you follow the higher dosage indicated by retailers. The tablets keep for 24 months when stored dry between 10 and 25 °C, so an opened pack will not go to waste from one year to the next.
