Three metal valves to adjust three air stones with a single pump
The Hobby Air Control shares the air from a single pump between three outlets, each fitted with its own metal valve. You can thus adjust separately the flow to three airstones or three diffusers, in a single tank or in three neighbouring tanks. It connects to 4/6 mm air tubing and attaches to the edge of the tank by its transparent bracket, which also keeps the tubes tidy. For just one or two airstones, the Hobby metal air valve with one or two outlets carries the same valves.
🎚️ Adjust each outlet
Each tap opens and closes independently of the other two. One airstone placed near the fish receives plenty of air, another at the bottom of a grow bed a gentle trickle, and the third can stay closed without affecting the others. The tightness of the taps is checked at the factory. Several Air Control units can be joined end to end when three outlets are no longer enough.
An outlet that is always open
If you close all three valves while the pump is running, the air has no outlet, the pressure builds up in the pump and its diaphragm wears out prematurely. Always leave at least one outlet open, or unplug the pump before closing everything.

In an aquaponic system, a single air pump can thus aerate the fish tank, the biofilter and a deep water culture grow bed, where the roots also need oxygen. A pump that covers all three stones
The splitter divides the flow of a pump, it does not increase it. For the three stones to produce a good stream of bubbles, start with a pump whose output covers all three combined, such as the JBL ProAir silent air pump, which goes up to 600 L/h.
