This liquid mineral fertiliser with an NPK 5-0-1 formula supplies the calcium, chelated iron, and trace elements of the TriPart system at all stages of growth. This soft water version is designed for reverse osmosis water, rainwater, or water containing less than 70 mg of calcium per litre, and is available from 500 ml to 60 L.

The summary

  • What it is: the part of the TriPart system that supplies calcium, iron, and trace elements. NPK 5-0-1, in the soft water version.
  • Soft or hard water: choose this version if your water contains less than 70 mg of calcium per litre, or if you are starting from reverse-osmosis or rainwater.
  • Always present: its dose remains substantial at every stage, from 0.5 ml per litre at the first roots through to 2 ml at pre-flowering.
  • How much to use: 1.2 ml per litre during growth, 1.6 at flowering, 2 at pre-flowering. The calculator converts for your reservoir.
  • Caution: concentrate classified danger, H318, causes serious eye damage. Wear goggles and gloves when dosing.
  • Sizes and dispatch: 500 ml, 1 L, 5 L, 10 L, or 60 L, dispatched from France.

Calcium, iron and trace elements, RO water, rainwater or soft water version

TriPart Micro soft water is the component of the TriPart system that supplies calcium, iron, and trace elements, in an NPK 5-0-1 formula. It is the former FloraMicro Soft Water, designed for calcium-poor water, whether that is reverse osmosis water, rainwater, or tap water containing less than 70 mg of calcium per litre.

💧 The two versions of Micro

This version, freshwater

It contains between 15 and 22.5% calcium nitrate, for water with less than 70 mg of calcium per litre, osmosis and rainwater.

The hard-water version

It contains between 5 and 10% calcium nitrate, for water with more than 70 mg of calcium per litre.

How to decide

Your water supplier's annual analysis gives the calcium content. An aquarium hardness test kit also works.

Iron and trace elements are measured in milligrams per litre, which means their absence does not show up in the conductivity reading. Without iron, a solution will quickly cause yellowing in young leaves. Without calcium, it leads to leaf-tip necrosis and blossom end rot in tomatoes, known to gardeners as "black bottom." A TriPart used without its Micro component will cause deficiencies within a few weeks, regardless of how much Grow or Bloom is added.

🧪 RO or rainwater

Osmosis water contains almost no dissolved salts: no calcium, which this version compensates for with its calcium nitrate, and no bicarbonates, which act as a buffer and stabilise pH. With this water, measure the starting conductivity, close to zero, adjust the pH last, most often upwards using a pH+ corrector, then check it every other day until you understand how your system behaves.

H318, causes serious eye damage

This is the only one of the three bottles to carry a danger warning. Splashes in the eye require prolonged rinsing and medical attention. Wear eye protection and gloves when measuring doses, and pour over the reservoir rather than at face height. Once diluted in the reservoir at the recommended doses, this risk disappears.

Check your calcium level before choosing

First check the calcium content of your water, as above 70 mg per litre you will need the hard water version. The Starter Kit brings all three parts together in 500 ml. Using the wrong version will not cause any damage, but will result in water that is either calcium-deficient or overloaded, and the deficiency can take several weeks to become visible on your plants.

🔬 What this container provides

The Micro is the only one of the three parts to carry the trace elements: iron, manganese, zinc, boron, copper and molybdenum. These are elements that plants consume in minute quantities, yet their absence becomes visible very quickly, with iron leading the way. It also supplies nitrogen, primarily in nitric form, and calcium, which explains its presence at every stage of the cycle, from 0.5 ml per litre at first root development through to 2 ml at pre-flowering. Neither of the other two parts you will add can compensate for its absence, and that is what sets a three-part nutrient system apart from a simple NPK fertiliser.

📦 Sizes and storage

This container keeps for 5 years after opening, stored sealed, away from light and frost, and should be resealed immediately after each use. Keep it in its original packaging without decanting it into a transparent container, as iron chelates degrade in light. The size to choose depends on your actual annual consumption; the Micro empties at roughly the same rate as the Grow since its dose varies little once growth is under way.

Technical specifications

The essentials

Formula
NPK 5-0-1Nitrogen is present, but the product's real value lies elsewhere: the calcium and trace elements.
Version
FreshwaterChoose this option when calcium is below 70 mg per litre, in reverse osmosis or rainwater.
What it provides
Calcium, iron, trace elementsManganese, zinc, boron, copper and molybdenum, in addition to iron and calcium.
Growth dose
1.2 ml per litreHydroponics and coco. Reaches 2 ml in pre-flowering, then 1.6 ml during flowering.

Formula and parameters

Calcium nitrate
15 to 22.5%Two to three times more than the hard water version, which is capped at 10%.
Presence in the cycle
From seedling to harvestThe only one of the three parts that never fades at any stage.
pH not to be exceeded
6,8Upper end of the target range during flowering. Iron, chelated EDDHA and DTPA, remains stable beyond this, but most elements are less readily absorbed.
Appearance
Dark brown liquid, odourlessThe dark colour comes from the iron chelates and makes it easy to tell the bottles apart.

Dosing safety

Classification
Danger, H318Causes serious eye damage. It is the only one of the three bottles to carry a hazard statement.
Dosing equipment
Goggles and glovesSafety advice P280. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly and seek medical advice.
SVHC listed substance
Boric acidBoron is an essential trace element. Its form appears on the ECHA candidate substances list.
Storage
Upright, sealed, in a cool placeStore in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from foodstuffs and combustible materials.

Grow, Micro, Bloom: what each one does in the TriPart system

The three bottles are not interchangeable and none of them is used on its own. Micro is used at a sustained dose at every stage, and it is the only one available in two versions depending on your water.

Each bottle carries its own elements The Micro supplies iron and calcium, the Grow and the Bloom supply potassium, each at the appropriate stage. The most visible indicator tells you which bottle to measure out carefully.

Micro is the only part used at a high dose throughout the entire cycle: 0.5 ml per litre at first roots, 1 at first leaves, 1.2 during growth, 2 at pre-flowering, and 1.6 during flowering. In soil, use 0.2, 0.6, 1, 1.5 and 1.4 ml per litre respectively. It is never used on its own to make up a solution: Grow and Bloom accompany it at every stage.
