This liquid flowering fertiliser, made from 100% plant-based sources, feeds your tomatoes, peppers, strawberry plants, and flowering plants from pre-flowering right through to harvest, in soil, coco fibre, and organic hydroponics. The dosage is 2 ml per litre at peak flowering.
Approved for use in organic farming, it is sold under the label "Universal flower and fruit fertiliser".
The summary
- What you receive: a bottle of liquid NPK 2-3-4 fertiliser, entirely plant-based, sold under the label "Universal Flower and Fruit Fertiliser".
- When to use it: from pre-flowering through to fruit ripening, following the grow formula.
- The dose: 1 ml per litre at pre-flowering, then 2 ml per litre at flowering.
- Suitable crops: tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, and flowering plants, in soil, coco fibre, or bioponics.
Organic plant-based fertiliser for flowering and fruiting, in soil, on coco fibre and in bioponic systems
When a plant moves from growth to flowering, its nutritional needs change. It requires less nitrogen, as leaf production slows, and more phosphorus and potassium to form flowers, fruit and seeds. This liquid NPK 2-3-4 follows that shift, with a phosphorus-to-nitrogen ratio that is the reverse of the grow formula. Its raw materials are entirely plant-based, so the micro-organisms in your grow medium gradually convert them into elements the roots can absorb.
The switch from one fertiliser to the other should be gradual. During pre-flowering, when the first flower buds appear, use both versions at 1 ml per litre each, then stop the grow version and increase the bloom version to 2 ml per litre, the maximum dose, throughout flowering and fruit ripening. The same bottle also covers the very earliest stages: 0.25 ml per litre at first root development and 0.5 ml per litre at the first true leaves, used alongside the grow version.
🍅 On fruiting plants
Tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, and strawberries benefit most from this change in formula, as their yield depends directly on how many flowers set. In pots or compost, the dose is 10 ml in a 5-litre watering can at every watering, with at least one plain water watering per week to prevent salt build-up. If you want to stimulate flowering without increasing your fertiliser input, the flower and fruit biostimulant can be added at 5 ml per litre over the same period.
Supplementing calcium for tomatoes grown in coco fibre
With coco fibre as a grow medium, a proportion of the calcium supplied remains locked in the substrate, yet tomatoes and peppers have a high calcium demand during fruit set. The calcium magnesium supplement, dosed at 1 ml per litre, should therefore be used alongside this fertiliser on this substrate. This prevents blossom end rot, which is the visible sign of calcium deficiency.
Keep the solution above 15 °C
The micro-organisms that make this fertiliser available to plants slow down markedly below 15 °C. In a cool greenhouse at the end of the season, or in an unheated reservoir, the fertiliser will then accumulate without feeding the plant. Aim for a grow medium and solution temperature above 20 °C, water with pre-warmed water, and always shake the bottle before use, as the suspended matter settles to the bottom.
💧 In bioponics
In organic hydroponics, this fertiliser is used alongside its growth counterpart in a recirculating solution that is continuously agitated and oxygenated. The working pH sits between 6.5 and 7, and a sudden drop signals die-off among the micro-organisms. This drop most often results from an unsuitable root-zone temperature, excess fertiliser, or an incompatible supplement, and you can spot it by monitoring pH with a drop test kit.
📦 Sizes and storage
This black liquid with a lightly vanilla-scented soy aroma is available in 500 ml and 1 litre bottles, and in 5 and 10 litre containers. Its pH before dilution is 3.7, and its safety data sheet does not classify it as hazardous. Store it upright in a dry, cool, ventilated place, away from foodstuffs, and it will keep for 2 years from its manufacturing date. At 2 ml per litre, the 5 litre container prepares 2,500 litres of solution, more than enough to carry an entire kitchen garden through flowering.

Flowering fertiliser or biostimulant?
Both are used from pre-flowering through to ripening. The first supplies the nutrients needed for flowers and fruit, whilst the second supports flowering without feeding the plant.
