Organic biostimulant pack: Trichoderma, Streptomyces, nettle
This pack brings together two powdered microbial biostimulants and a concentrated nettle feed, all suitable for organic growing. The powders protect the root zone in soil, in coco fibre and in hydroponics, while the nettle feed supports foliage growth in the vegetable garden.
The summary
- What you receive: 25 g of Trichoderma, 10 g of Streptomyces and mycorrhiza powder, and 1 L of concentrated nettle feed.
- What it does: micro-organisms that colonise the roots, and a nettle feed that supports foliage growth.
- The doses: 0.1 g per litre for each powder, 30 ml of nettle feed per litre for watering.
- The schedule: the powders every 6 to 8 weeks, the nettle feed every 10 days.
- How to choose: this pack protects the roots; the humic and fulvic acid pack stimulates, the complete organic fertiliser pack feeds.
- How it arrives: a parcel of around 1.4 kg, shipped from France.
Trichoderma, Streptomyces and nettle slurry for protected roots in organic growing
This pack brings together two microbial biostimulants in powder form and a concentrated nettle feed, three products approved for organic growing that act on the root zone and on the vigour of the foliage. The two powders supply living organisms that settle around the roots of your crops, in soil, on coco fibre or in hydroponics. The nettle feed, for its part, is diluted in the watering can or in the sprayer to support growth in the vegetable garden. You use them preventively, ahead of the periods that weaken plants, rather than in response to a decline that has already set in.
🦠 Two powders for the root zone
The first sachet contains Trichoderma powder, a soil fungus of the species Trichoderma harzianum, guaranteed at 100 million colony-forming units per gram. Once diluted, it colonises the surface of the roots and occupies the space that other fungi might take. The second sachet combines three bacteria, including a strain of Streptomyces, with a mycorrhizal fungus, Rhizophagus irregularis, which forms a symbiosis with the roots and extends the area they can explore. Both powders are dosed in the same way, at 0.1 g per litre of water or solution, so you can prepare them together in the same volume of clean water.
Trichoderma
This fungus colonises the roots and settles permanently in the grow medium, with one application every 6 to 8 weeks.
Bacteria and mycorrhiza
The three bacteria and the mycorrhizal fungus in the second powder are best used before the hot weather arrives.
Nettle feed
This fermented nettle liquid supplies nitrogen, iron, silica, potassium and magnesium to vegetable garden crops.
Organic status
All three products can be used in organic farming under Regulations (EU) 2018/848 and 2021/1165.
🌿 Nettle feed as a supplement
The third product in the pack is a concentrated nettle feed, made from 100% nettle liquid, with a pH between 5 and 6. It contains no organisms to establish: its role is to supply the foliage and the soil with elements that nettle accumulates, nitrogen first, then iron, silica, potassium and magnesium. Dilute it to 30 ml per litre for watering, or 20 ml per litre as a foliar spray, and repeat the application every 10 days, from the first true leaves until just before flowering. The last application should be made at least 7 days before harvest.
Humic acid feeds the micro-organisms that are added
The fungi and bacteria in the two powders need organic matter to multiply around the roots. The liquid humic acid supplies this matter, at 4 ml per litre, and its use begins as soon as the micro-organisms are installed, at one application per month. On a poor grow medium, such as new coco fibre, this application gives the organisms the organic matter they need to establish themselves.
No fungicide after the powders
A fungicide cannot tell Trichoderma from the fungi it targets: it also destroys the one you have just added. Acids and prolonged heat above 30 °C harm it in the same way. If a fungicide treatment is unavoidable, the powders should be applied again once that treatment has finished, since the colony has to be rebuilt.
📅 Two dosing schedules
The three products follow two rhythms: the powders are renewed rarely, because their organisms multiply once established, whereas the nettle feed comes back often, since the plant uses up what it provides. At the first application, you dilute the two powders in the watering water or in the reservoir solution, at 0.1 g per litre each, then you water around the base of the plants or let the solution circulate. You then renew the powders every 6 to 8 weeks, and at every complete change of solution in hydroponics, since draining the system removes part of the organisms. The nettle feed is prepared separately, in its own watering can, every 10 days. On a tomato crop transplanted in May, this means one application of powders at transplanting, a second at the start of July, and a watering can of nettle feed every 10 days until the first flowers. To recognise what threatens the roots and foliage during the season, the article on pest control reviews the most common situations.
📦 What the pack contains
The box contains a 25 g sachet of Trichoderma, a 10 g sachet of Streptomyces and mycorrhiza powder and a 1 L bottle of nettle manure. At 0.1 g per litre, the 25 g sachet makes 250 litres of solution and the 10 g one makes 100 litres, which is several applications on a family vegetable garden or on a reservoir of a few dozen litres. The bottle of nettle manure makes about 33 litres of watering solution at 30 ml per litre, or 50 litres of spray at 20 ml per litre. With a 10-litre watering can, you therefore add 1 g of each powder for microbial applications, and 300 ml of nettle manure for supportive waterings.
