This liquid fertiliser is added to the irrigation water for growing in coco fibre hydroponics, always alongside its flowering version, from seedling to harvest. It supplies the nitrogen and calcium the plant needs to form its leaves, with no additional supplements required.

The summary

  • What it is: the core fertiliser for hydroponics on coco fibre, added directly to the watering solution.
  • Used with: always used alongside its flowering counterpart, from seedling to harvest.
  • How much: 0.5 to 3 ml per litre depending on the plant's growth stage — the full table is in the FAQ.
  • pH: between 5.5 and 6.5 during growth, then between 6.4 and 6.8 from the first buds onwards.

Liquid fertiliser for hydroponics on coco fibre, to be used alongside its bloom version

This liquid fertiliser feeds plants grown in hydroponics on coco fibre, from seedling through to harvest. It works as a pair with its flowering counterpart: add a small amount of each bottle to your watering solution, and this mixture provides the plant with everything it needs. This growth bottle delivers primarily nitrogen, which builds leaves and stems, along with calcium, which coco fibre tends to lock up. No additional supplements are therefore required.

🧪 Two bottles, a single watering

Certain minerals react with one another when concentrated: the calcium in this bottle would form a precipitate with the phosphates in the bloom version if they were combined in the same bottle. Once diluted in the irrigation water, they coexist without any issue. The separation offers a second advantage, as you can adjust the proportion of each bottle as the plant develops. During the growth phase, the growth version takes precedence; at flowering, it is the other way round.

💧 Preparing your watering solution

  1. Fill your watering can or reservoir with the desired amount of water.
  2. Shake the growth bottle, add the correct dose and mix well.
  3. Do the same with the bloom bottle, taking care never to combine the two concentrates in the same measuring cup.
  4. Measure the pH of the water and bring it to between 5.5 and 6.5, then between 6.4 and 6.8 once the first buds appear, using a pH adjuster.
  5. Water until a little runs out from the base of the pot, which prevents salt build-up in the fibre.

Seedlings and cuttings

Allow 0.5 ml of each bottle per litre while the first roots are forming.

Young plants

Move to 1 ml of each bottle per litre as soon as the first true leaves appear.

Growth

Add 2.5 ml of grow and 1 ml of bloom per litre while the foliage is developing.

Flowering

The bloom version takes over, at 3 ml per litre against 1.5 ml of grow.

Start a first cycle with the complete coco kit

For a first grow on coco fibre, the 500 ml coco fertiliser kit brings together this growth formula, its bloom counterpart, the nitrogen-free end-of-bloom fertiliser, and a sachet of powdered pH-. You have everything you need for all three stages through to harvest, in sizes suited to a first trial. After that, you can move up to 1-litre bottles or larger containers.

Safety goggles when pouring the concentrate

The concentrate is classified Danger, H318: it causes serious eye damage if splashed. Wear gloves and eye protection when pouring it, and if contact with the eyes occurs, rinse carefully with water for several minutes then contact a poison control centre. Store the bottle closed, upright, in its original packaging and out of reach of children.

📏 Measuring the concentration

Conductivity, denoted EC and expressed in millisiemens (mS), indicates the quantity of fertiliser dissolved in the water. A small electronic meter measures it in a few seconds. It should sit between 0.3 and 0.6 mS at first root development, between 1.3 and 1.8 mS during vegetative growth, then 1.8 to 2.0 mS at first bud set and 1.4 to 2.2 mS during flowering. For your first grows, following the doses in the table is sufficient; measuring conductivity becomes useful when you want to fine-tune the solution according to the vigour of your plants. Always take the reading last, once both bottles have been added and the pH adjusted.

🧴 The same size as the flowering formula

The product is available in 500 ml and 1 litre bottles, and in 5 and 10 litre containers. Choose the same size for the bloom version, as both are used up at a similar rate over the full cycle. During growth, at 2.5 ml per litre, the 1 litre bottle prepares 400 litres of nutrient solution, the equivalent of 40 ten-litre watering cans. It keeps for 5 years after opening, stored upright and tightly sealed. This programme is also suitable for pure coco fibre or coco mixed with perlite, whether in pots or on a flood-and-drain table.

Mineral fertiliser or organic fertiliser for growth?

All three feed the growth phase. The first is managed by conductivity on coco fibre; the two organic fertilisers work through the microbial life of the grow medium.

Not sure whether to go mineral or organic? One is measured to the tenth of a millisiemens; the others feed the grow medium before the plant. Three questions are enough to decide.
