Ebb and flow tables

The ebb and flow principle: the grow tray is flooded at regular intervals, then drains so the roots can breathe.

On an ebb and flow table, a pump floods the grow tray at regular intervals, then the water drains back into the reservoir: the roots are fed, then they breathe. The principle, known as flood and drain, is simple, robust and suits plants in pots filled with clay pebbles, from herbs to tomatoes.

The factory setting floods roughly every four hours, to be adjusted according to the heat and the growing medium. Flood table fittings are in Hydroponic spare parts.
