🌿 Why your system needs chelated iron ?
Iron is an essential nutrient for photosynthesis and plant growth. Without it, leaves turn yellow (iron chlorosis) while their veins remain green. In aquaponics and hydroponics, iron easily precipitates depending on the water's pH, and this is exactly where chelation comes in.
EDDHA 6% chelated iron protects the iron from precipitation thanks to the EDDHA chelating agent, which keeps the iron in a form that can be directly absorbed by the roots and leaves of the plants, even at high pH levels up to 11.

🧑🌾 Recommended dosage
- Prevention (maintenance) : 20 g per 1,000 L of water
- Curative treatment (confirmed deficiency) : 30 g per 1,000 L of water
- Foliar application : 1 to 2 g/L of water, spray on the leaves
- Target level in water : 2 to 3 ppm (mg/L) of iron
💡 Tip : Use an iron test kit to check your level before and after each addition. The ideal level in aquaponics is between 2 and 3 ppm.
⚠️ A note on water colour
When applied, EDDHA Iron tints the water cherry red for a few days. This is completely normal and harmless to both fish and plants. The colour fades naturally after a few days.
