The summary

  • What you receive: a 500 ml or 1 L bottle, or a 5, 10 or 60 L container, of brown liquid fulvic acid.
  • The dose: 2 ml per litre of solution, or 3 ml per litre as a foliar spray.
  • Growth stages: from the first roots through to pre-flowering, after which application stops.
  • The composition: 22.4% fulvic acids and 7.9% humic acids, approved for use in organic growing.

Liquid humus biostimulant for seedlings, cuttings and roots, compatible with any fertiliser and any grow medium

Fulvic acid is the finest fraction of humus, organic matter so thoroughly decomposed that the plants it once came from are no longer recognisable. This bottle contains 22.4%, extracted from leonardite, a lignite rich in humic substances, and from lignin derived from decomposed wood. Add it to your irrigation water or nutrient solution at 2 ml per litre, from seed soaking through to pre-flowering. It does not replace a fertiliser, as it supplies almost no nutrients: it helps the plant make better use of those you provide.

🌱 A molecule that transports

Fulvic acids are small organic molecules, soluble at any pH, which form complexes with cations such as iron, zinc, and manganese. These elements remain dissolved in the solution rather than precipitating out, making them far more accessible to the roots. Fulvic acids also stimulate enzymatic activity and cellular respiration in the roots, which encourages the proliferation of root hairs. This is why the product is used primarily during rooting, when your seedlings and cuttings are establishing their root system.

Combining fulvic acid with a root stimulator

For starting seedlings or cuttings, the organic root stimulator is added to the same water, at 5 ml per litre at first root formation then at 3 ml per litre. One product provides plant extracts that trigger rooting, the other helps the formed roots to absorb more effectively. In a HydroCloner, both products are added to the reservoir as soon as the cuttings are placed in position.

This product is not a pure fulvic acid, and that is a deliberate choice. Extracting humus releases a large amount of potassium, so the greater part of the humic acids is removed to avoid adding excessive potassium to your solution. A fraction of 7.9% is retained, alongside 17.5% organic matter, which gives the liquid its brown colour and a pH of around 8. You can therefore add it to an already-balanced fertiliser programme without upsetting that balance.

Checking the pH after adding

The product is slightly alkaline, with a pH of between 7.5 and 8. At 2 ml per litre, the effect on a solution is modest, but it adds to that of your fertilisers. Add the fulvic acid last, mix, then measure the pH with a drop-based pH test before making any correction. Shake the bottle before each use, as some of the organic matter may settle at the bottom.

Seed soaking

Seeds soak for 6 to 8 hours, or overnight, in the undiluted product, before sowing.

Watering seedlings

The seedling compost receives water dosed at 2 ml per litre until germination.

Nutrient solution

The reservoir receives 2 ml per litre at each preparation, from first roots through to pre-flowering.

Foliar spray

The foliage receives a fine mist at 3 ml per litre from the first true leaves onwards.

These four methods of application cover all growing situations, in soil and in soilless systems alike. Soaking is most useful for slow or difficult-to-germinate seeds, softening the seed coat to aid germination. Foliar spraying suits plants in active growth, ideally in the early morning or late evening when the stomata are open and droplets do not dry too quickly. In all other situations, simply add the product to each watering or each time you renew your solution.

📅 From seedling to pre-flowering

The feeding chart sets a single dose of 2 ml per litre across four successive stages: first roots, first true leaves, growth, and pre-flowering. Application then stops during flowering and fruit ripening, as the plant's main priority is no longer root development. There is therefore no dose to adjust over the course of the cycle, only a point at which to stop. In open ground as well as in pots, the same dosage is applied to the irrigation water at each fertiliser application.

🔬 Which fertilisers to use alongside it

Fulvic acid combines with all fertilisers, whether from this brand or another, mineral or organic, and with all grow media: soil, potting compost, coco fibre, clay pebbles or rockwool. In mineral hydroponics, it helps keep trace elements in solution. In bioponic growing, with an organic fertiliser such as the organic growth fertiliser, it fits into the programme without disrupting it. Add it after the fertilisers, never mix it neat with another concentrate in the measuring jug.

📦 Five sizes

At 2 ml per litre, the 500 ml bottle makes up 250 litres of solution, the 1 L bottle makes 500 litres, the 5 L container makes 2,500 litres, and the 10 L container makes 5,000 litres. The small size is sufficient for a few seedlings and a container vegetable patch, whilst the larger containers are intended for hydroponic systems where the reservoir is topped up frequently; the 60 L drum, which makes up 30,000 litres, is aimed at professional growers. The product keeps for 2 years from its manufacturing date, stored upright, cap on, between 5 and 30 °C. It is manufactured in France, authorised under AMM number 1190285, and approved for use in organic farming.
