This powdered biostimulant combines three bacteria and a mycorrhizal fungus, which attach directly to the roots in soil, in coco fibre and in hydroponics. It is dosed at 1 g per 10 litres, every 6 to 8 weeks, preferably before hot weather, and it can be used in organic farming.
The summary
- What you receive: a powder combining 3 bacteria and 1 mycorrhizal fungus, from 10 g to 3.5 kg.
- The dose: 1 g per 10 litres of water or nutrient solution, every 6 to 8 weeks.
- The right moment: as a preventive measure, before the hot spells that weaken roots.
- In hydroponics: no biofilter, and a fresh application at every change of solution.
- How to choose: four micro-organisms combined here, against just one in the Trichoderma or Azospirillum of the same range.
- In organic farming: usable, under Regulations (EU) 2018/848 and 2021/1165.
Bacteria and mycorrhizae in powder form to protect the roots during hot spells
This powder biostimulant combines three bacteria and one mycorrhizal fungus, which settle in the root zone of your crops. The three bacteria, Streptomyces beta-vulgaris, Bacillus megaterium and a strain of Burkholderia, are each guaranteed at 100 million colony-forming units per gram. The fungus, Rhizophagus irregularis, forms a symbiosis with the roots. Once diluted in the watering water or in the reservoir, the powder attaches directly to the roots, so you do not need any biofilter, even in hydroponics. The product can be used in organic farming.
🧫 What these micro-organisms do
The four micro-organisms act in four distinct ways, and iron mobilisation is the one whose effect shows most directly on the foliage, because this element is involved in chlorophyll synthesis, in cellular respiration and in the uptake of other nutrients. Yet a good part of the iron in the medium stays in an insoluble form that the roots cannot absorb. The siderophores produced by the bacteria bind this iron and make it available to the plant. If the young leaves of your plants turn pale between veins that stay green, our guide to iron deficiency will help you confirm the diagnosis before you act.
Phytohormones
The micro-organisms produce plant hormones that stimulate root growth and then encourage flowering.
Iron made available
The bacteria release siderophores, molecules that capture the insoluble iron in the medium and make it available in a chelated form.
Carbon for the soil
As they break down organic matter, the bacteria release the carbon that the rest of the microbial life in the grow medium feeds on.
A root symbiosis
Rhizophagus irregularis associates with the roots and improves nutrient uptake, including when the plant is under stress.
An organic fertiliser to feed the bacteria
The bacteria in StreptoLogic break down organic matter, so an organic fertiliser supplies the resource that sustains their activity. The liquid organic growth fertiliser from the same range goes into the same water as the powder, each at its own dose. In organic growing, whether in soil or in bioponics, you feed both the plant and the microbial life with a single watering.
🌞 A top-up before the hot weather
When the temperature rises, the amount of oxygen dissolved in the water and in the soil falls, while the plant's needs increase. This imbalance causes water and oxidative stress that exposes the roots to pathogens such as Pythium, Fusarium and Verticillium, whose spread speeds up in hot weather. StreptoLogic is therefore used preventively: the beneficial populations need time to multiply, and you add them before the heat episode rather than when symptoms appear. The dose is 1 g per 10 litres of water or nutrient solution. You then repeat the application every 6 to 8 weeks, in pots as well as in hydroponics.
Pre-mix the powder before using a drip system
The powder contains diatomaceous earth, which provides silicon but forms a sediment in the water. In a system fitted with drippers or fine tubing, this sediment can clog the small passages. In that case, mix the dose with water, with the pump running, for 24 hours, then collect the liquid part and compost the sediment. Never leave this mixture for more than 24 hours without oxygenation.
🧪 In a reservoir, without a biofilter
In hydroponics, you dissolve the powder directly in the reservoir, at the same dose of 1 g per 10 litres. Like all aerobic micro-organisms, those in StreptoLogic work best when the solution is well oxygenated and its pH, temperature and humidity remain stable. An air diffuser maintains oxygenation, while a pH drop test lets you check the acidity of the solution. A drain-down, however, washes away the established population, so each new solution receives its own dose. In bioponics, where the nitrogen in an organic fertiliser must be mineralised before it can be absorbed, the activity of the bacteria helps keep the solution alive.
📦 Five powder sizes
The 10 g sachet makes up 100 litres of solution, which is enough for a household tank or for watering a few pots. The 50 g one makes up 500 litres and covers a crop followed over several months. The 400 g, 1.66 kg and 3.5 kg packs are aimed more at greenhouses and farms. In open fields, the dose is 0.5 kg per hectare, and you should not exceed 2 applications per year. The powder keeps for 18 months from manufacture, in the dry, in its sealed packaging, ideally between 5 and 25 °C. If you are hesitating between Trichoderma powder and Azospirillum powder, the comparison of the three biostimulants sets out their doses and schedules.

One fungus, one bacterium or four micro-organisms?
The three powdered microbial biostimulants in the range are not dosed or renewed in the same way. What sets them apart is, first of all, the number of organisms delivered to the roots.
