Gutter support 30 x 30 mm: sections, tees and end caps
These parts form the gutter support of a GrowStream system: support elements, white square tubes of 30 x 30 mm in nine lengths, T inserts that connect them, and slatted caps that close the feet. Everything fits together without glue or screws, and each part can be replaced individually.
The summary
- What you receive: one support element in the chosen length, 2 feet of 140 mm, 2 T-inserts or 4 slotted caps.
- The role of each part: the elements form legs, uprights, crossbars and side rails, the tees join them together and the caps close off the feet.
- Which length: each system has its own combination, from 314 mm for 10 plants to 458 mm for the large models.
- Assembly: push-fit, with no screws or glue, and therefore removable.
Support parts, tees and caps for assembling or repairing the support for your gutters
The gullies of a gully hydroponic system rest on a 30 x 30 mm square tube support, assembled without glue or screws. Here you will find all its parts: the support elements, white square tubes in nine lengths from 140 to 485 mm, the T inserts that connect them and the slotted end caps that close the feet, for replacing a cracked element, raising an installation or building your own structure.
🏗️ The structure of a support
Each support is assembled like a gantry. Vertical uprights rest on a T-shaped insert, whose two branches take the short 140 mm legs, closed with an end cap. At the top, a horizontal crossbar joins the two uprights of each gantry, and side rails run along the length of the gutters. You can replace a damaged part on its own, without touching the rest of the structure.
The legs, 140 mm
Two feet extend from each T-shaped insert placed on the ground and give the frame its stability.
The uprights, 370 mm
These vertical tubes set the height of the grow channels above the reservoir.
The crossbars, 440 mm
They connect two uprights at the top of the frame, just under the gutters.
The side rails, 458 mm
These tubes form the beam that runs lengthways along the top of the structure.
🔩 The tee and the end cap
The T insert measures 138 mm long by 84 mm high. Its three branches push into three tubes, two in line and one at a right angle, to form a crosspiece or the start of a leg. The fin plug, 30 x 30 mm and 25 mm deep, has flexible fins that hold it in the tube without glue. It protects the floor, stops an open tube from filling with water or soil and removes the sharp edge at the end of each leg.
Scrubbing the pipes during support maintenance
A cracked insert weakens an entire plant stand, and the gutter it carries is no longer level, so the film of solution spreads poorly along it. If you shut down the gutter system to change the part, take the opportunity to run the 16 mm brush through the connecting pipes, where a biofilm gradually reduces the flow. You then restart a level installation and a clean circuit in a single intervention.
Measure the element to be replaced before ordering
Several lengths are very close, such as 390 and 393 mm, or 458 and 470 mm, and a piece that is too long throws the gutters out of level. Measure the piece in place from one end to the other, without the insert. On a tube from another source, check with a calliper that it really measures 30 x 30 mm on the outside, because a thick wall leaves too little room for the insert.
📐 Choosing the right length
Each system size uses its own combination of lengths. The frame of a 10-plant system combines a 440 mm cross-member with two 314 mm tubes, while the 20 to 80-plant systems use 370 mm uprights, 440 mm cross-members, two 458 mm side rails and a 393 mm central tube. The lengths of 390, 470 and 485 mm are used for made-to-measure structures. The safest approach is to identify the letter of the part on the assembly instructions for your system, then measure the one that is already in place.
🔨 Push-fit and replace
Cut the corner tube and deburr the inside with a file, otherwise the part binds and may split. Push the insert or the end cap in by hand, then finish with a rubber mallet, never a metal hammer. To replace an element, first empty the gutters or remove them, then pull off the damaged part, fit the new one as far as it will go, and check with a spirit level that the crossbar is horizontal before putting your gutters back.
