This liquid mineral flowering fertiliser, NPK 1-6-4 with magnesium, sulphur, and chelated trace elements, forms the second half of a two-part fertiliser. It supplies all the phosphorus in the programme, and is therefore used alongside its grow-phase counterpart from the first roots onwards.
A single formulation suits both soft and hard water.
The summary
- What you receive: a 500 ml or 1 L bottle, or a 5 or 10 L container, of liquid fertiliser NPK 1-6-4.
- Its role: it supplies the phosphorus, magnesium and sulphur that the growth part does not contain.
- The dose: from 0.5 ml per litre at first roots to 3 ml per litre at peak flowering.
- Water: a single version, to be used alongside the soft water or hard water growth part.
Bloom part of a two-bottle mineral fertiliser, suitable for all water hardness levels
In a two-part fertiliser, each bottle contains half of the nutrients. This one brings together phosphorus, at 6% P2O5, potassium, magnesium and sulphur, while the growth part NPK 5-0-5 provides the bulk of the nitrogen and the calcium. Both bottles are used together throughout the entire cycle, and it is their ratio that changes: the growth part dominates until pre-flowering, then this one takes over when your plants are forming their flowers and fruit.
🌸 The phosphorus of the whole programme
Because the grow part contains no phosphorus, this bottle is used from the very first root development, where phosphorus supports the formation of the root system. It also supplies 3% magnesium oxide and 5% sulphur trioxide, in sulphate form, compounds that cannot coexist with calcium in a concentrate. Its nitrogen content, at 1.5%, is split between nitric and ammoniacal forms, and its trace elements are chelated with EDTA, with iron chelated with DTPA and EDDHA, keeping it available to your plants up to a high pH.
In hydroponics, the dose of this bottle rises from 0.5 ml per litre at first roots to 1 ml per litre during growth, then to 2.5 ml at pre-flowering and 3 ml at full flowering. At the same time, you reduce the growth part from 3 ml per litre down to 1.5 ml during flowering. The target conductivity sits between 1.8 and 2.0 mS at pre-flowering and between 1.4 and 2.2 mS at flowering. In soil, this bottle stays at 3 ml per litre at full flowering and drops to 2 ml at pre-flowering.
Finishing the cycle with an end-of-bloom fertiliser
During the final 10 to 15 days, both bottles give way to the nitrogen-free late-flowering fertiliser, used on its own at 5 ml per litre in hydroponics and 4 ml per litre in soil. Deprived of nitrogen, the plant remobilises the nitrogen stored in its older leaves, which gradually yellow, a sign that ripening is progressing as it should. The same product can also be used to bring a few lagging plants into line with the rest.
Never mix the two neat concentrates together
Poured together neat, the two bottles form a white precipitate, because the calcium in the growth part reacts with the sulphates and phosphates in this one. Always add each measured dose to the reservoir water separately, stir between additions, and rinse the measure before switching bottles. The concentrate is not classified as hazardous, but keep it out of reach of children.
🍓 A reservoir in full bloom
Take six strawberry plants in a gutter, fed from a 20-litre reservoir. At full flowering, pour in 30 ml of the growth part, mix, then add 60 ml of this bottle, giving a total of 4.5 ml of fertiliser per litre. Next, measure the pH with a drop pH test and bring it to between 6.4 and 6.8, the target range at flowering, then check that the conductivity stays below 2.2 mS. The solution is renewed every week.
🧴 Sizes and usage rate
At 3 ml per litre, the full-bloom dose, the 500 ml bottle makes around 165 litres of solution, the 1 L bottle around 330 litres, the 5 L container over 1,600 litres, and the 10 L container over 3,300 litres. This is the bottle that empties fastest during flowering, whereas the grow part is used up mainly during the vegetative phase. The fertiliser complies with EU Regulation 2019/1009, is manufactured in France, and keeps for 5 years after opening when the cap is screwed on tightly.
