JBL AccliPond care for pond fish, for transport and acclimatisation
JBL's AccliPond helps pond fish through stressful moments: transport, introduction to the water, acclimatisation or the end of a treatment. It provides plant extracts, vitamins, including folic acid, and iodine.
The 500 ml bottle treats approximately 10 m³.

Support for fish during stressful moments
For a fish, transport and arrival in a new pond are an ordeal. It spends hours in a bag, undergoes temperature swings and finds itself in water whose chemistry differs from what it knows. This stress weakens its defences, and many diseases appear in the days following an introduction. JBL's AccliPond is designed for these periods: it does not cure a disease, it helps your fish cope better with the change.
🐟 What it contains
This conditioner combines plant extracts, vitamins and iodine. Among the vitamins is folic acid, a water-soluble B vitamin that contributes to the normal function of the immune system, while iodine plays a part in energy metabolism. Together they support the fish's natural resistance and also encourage their readiness to spawn, which makes it a useful product at breeding time as well as when new fish arrive.
You will use it in three situations. When new fish arrive, you add some to the transport water and to the pond or tank that will house them. After a medical treatment, it supports the fish's recovery once the medication has been removed by a water change. Finally, during the spawning period, it supports fish put under strain by breeding.
A dechlorinator for the quarantine tank water
If you are filling a quarantine tank or topping up with tap water, the JBL BiotoPond conditioner first neutralises the chlorine. AccliPond is then added to this prepared water, at the same dose as in the pond. New fish thus find chlorine-free, enriched water as soon as they arrive.
A product that is harmful if swallowed
AccliPond is classed as harmful if swallowed. Keep the bottle out of the reach of children and animals, and rinse the dilution watering can with water after each use.
🧮 Dosage
The dose is 40 ml per 800 litres of pond water, so the 500 ml bottle treats about 10,000 litres. Shake your bottle vigorously, mix the dose in a watering can filled with pond water, then spread it over the whole surface. For the arrival of six koi in a 6,000-litre pond, pour in 300 ml on the day they are introduced: this leaves 200 ml, enough to treat a quarantine tank or a 4,000-litre pond.
In the days following introduction, watch your fish: check that they swim normally, that they eat and that they do not rub against the sides, a common sign of parasites. Quarantine in a separate tank remains the best protection for a pond that is already stocked, as it avoids introducing a disease that would affect all the fish. AccliPond is then added to the quarantine tank, at the same dose.
The transport itself needs a little preparation. Stop feeding your fish the day before, so they foul the water in the bag less, then fill the bag one third with water and two thirds with air, or better still oxygen, and place it in an insulated box. AccliPond can be added directly to this transport water, at the same dose. On arrival, let the bag float for about twenty minutes and compare temperatures with a floating thermometer, then transfer the fish with a net, without pouring the bag water, which is loaded with waste, into the pond. Spring and early autumn, with water between 15 and 20 °C, are the best times for an introduction.
🌱 In aquaponics
In aquaponics, the arrival of new fish is a decisive moment: a stressed fish eats less, grows less and falls ill more easily, which weighs on the whole system. Acclimatisation support, combined with a quarantine period and a gradual introduction, limits these risks. The article on koi carp in aquaponics details the conditions for housing a pond fish in a growing system.
